Curriculum
Lecture Room 1
Description
This course consists of three parts – i) National Geodetic Networks, ii) Coordinate Transformation and iii) Observation of the National Control Points. In the first part, the participants will learn national geodetic networks primarily through Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS), as well as learn their operations, control, data collection, and the subsequent data analysis. In the second part, the participants will learn the coordinate systems and further acquire basic knowledge of global geodetic coordinate transformation. The participants can also learn about the characteristics and accuracy of coordinate transformation between the local coordinate system and the global geodetic coordinate system. In the third part, the participants will learn the Tanzanian national control points, the utilization of the global geodetic coordinate system, and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) surveying to measure accurate positional coordinates.
